Semolina fine - 500g

Semolina, often known as sooji or rava, is an important ingredient for many Indian dishes and snacks. Semolina is made by processing wheat into tiny fine grains. Semolina looks almost like fine grains of white sand. Semolina is often used together with other flours like rice flour, wheat flour, corn flour to prepare the base or dough for many traditional Indian dishes like Batura, Upma, Kesari etc. In order to get fine taste of semolina, it is first lightly toast in a dry pan with little ghee on it and putting it on very low heat and stirring it from time to time until it turns slightly brown in color. This yields a much better dish after the semolina is prepared.

Semolina can be best used for the following
1) Main ingredient for making mini meals like rava upma
2) Used to prepare exotic Indian desserts like kesari bath or Soji ka halwa
3) Used to make Indian pudding flavored with ghee, raisins, cardamom and saffron
4) Added together to rice flour to make Indian rice cakes like Rawa Idli and Rawa dosas
5) Added to Wheat atta flour to make Batura or Pooris
6) Used to prepare mini pooris like paani pooris or golgoppa
